is donation page allowed on free wpdotcom blog

  i have earlier enquired about paypal (1). after much deliberation, i have decided to add donation page with “bank details” (for direct money transfer) and “liberapay” link.

  why bank details? due to ongoing ukraine conflict and behaviour of various organisations, govts, etc.. personally i prefer to dialogue only. i am also a privacy freak.

  i could not find info about liberapay and direct bank transfers on support or forums.

  so it is acceptable to create “donations page” with bank acc details and liberapay link AND donate button linking to donation page on each or every post or page.

  Hi there,

  You can add a donation page to your site, and you’re allowed to link to off-site services as well where people can provide donations. Just don’t be spammy in the way you go about it :)

  Posting your bank details should also be fine, but ultimately the decision about something like this lies with our terms of service team if/when such content gets brought to their attention.

  If it were me making the site, I’d rather go with a contact form people can use to reach out if they want to donate via bank transfer, and then reply to them via email with my banking details – if you’re concerned about privacy, this will prevent you from publishing your banking details on a public website that gets indexed by search engines.
