Is embedding images from Flickr any less consuming of free web space than upl…

As I do not have enough space above to type my question in full, I am now typing it in here:
Is embedding images from Flickr any less consuming of free web space than uploading images directly to the Word Press Server?
By inserting images or photos in my text articles, this would mean that I would first have to upload pictures to your WordPress Servers. This in turn would mean that I would be using up the free 3G space allocated to me as a free user of WordPress. Am I correct? How could I embed pictures and would that be any less ‘consuming’ of my free web space? I have heard that Flickr is a good option for this. My question is…..is it true that if i uploaded a 3 or 4 MB photo, this could be avoided by using an embed text code from Flickr which could only be a few KB in size. Please advise.

Why would you upload huge photos to a website?
I have several thousand pictures on one of my blogs and still have easily 90% of my 3 GB space left.
Keep in mind that screen resolution is still only 72 px/in and uploading uncompressed oversized images only wastes storage space, and wastes time loading your pages/posts.
You should be able to use software (Photoshop, Elelments, or a number of online programs) to resize and compress your files to less than 100kb each. Or better, less than 50 kb each!
If you link images to another site, even such as Flickr you page will take longer to load.

Also, note that the 3GB of space does not include your text: it is for your media files: images especially.
All WordPress.com blogs come with 3000 megabytes (~3 GBs) of space for storing uploaded files and images.

Is there a limit on transfers, bandwidth, downloads?
No.
