is it allowed generally to reblog? Someone want money from me.
-
Hello, a simple question, but i had a very horrible Twitter-Session some minutes ago.
Is reblogging inside wp.com desirable, or should it not be. A blogging woman almost had warned me via Twitter, because I had reblogged their articles. In this case, there articles had no site break so the full article was reposted inside my blog. She wants to have an extra reminder to her blog, but i think the automatic insertion of “reblogged from” is correct. Is it, and what do you think? I think its real german, nothing else! ;-)
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
Hold on — the original blogger wants money from you because you reblogged one of her articles?
-
hi, better someone made the suggestion that we could agree so. The blogger wanted a German source tag. I think this is not the intend of blogging.
-
i reblogged some of her articles, but not regularely. But she hasn’t the articles formated with site breaks so the full articles get reposted at my blog. She doesn’t want that, but she also wants not to format her articles this i think better way.

Sorry that is not “Reblogging” that is content theft, your are in the wrong unless you have permission to copy the whole post.
Just putting “Reblogged from” does not change the fact that you stole their content – taking the whole article is theft – sorry
They have every right to DMCA your site & posting – if you are making a habit of posting entire articles on your site – your blog is living on borrowed time before being deleted for Terms of Service Violations
If you like the article – do two things
1) in your own words – why this is a great article
2) delete all but maybe 65 or so words of the original article and put a link back to the original articleI have seen a few cases on news sites where they have a few more clips mixed in with a genuine discussion on the original article
but the whole article – link back or not is stealing

Thx, can we say: All members of wp.com are agreeing to this, the allow all other members to reblog there articles, and when they are not correct formated – means the complete article is reposted – its there problem?

@timethief: Thank you very much! I think this should be cleared, because other members could also be confronted with such things, and not every member is as generously like muschelschloss.wordpress.com.
Their articles are now deleted from my blog, and i will never reblog articles from her, because i have no more time to discuss such problems. ;-) I decided for wp.com because some germans – not muschelschloss – are impossible. -
WordPress.com is owned by Automattic Inc ie. an American registered company to which American law applies and we all agree to the Terms of Service to blog here at all. There is no consent required for reblogging http://en.support.wordpress.com/reblogs/ and no one can charge another blogger for reblogging, nor can they dictate what formatting is used, so be clear on that please.
-
@timethief: I also thought so, but the named member told other things to me. Page breaks (sorry, site breaks is the false word) – my idea – would prevent automatic reblogging the entire article.
As i said: German Law against US Law. We have to do so much more in Germany next time. ;-)Thx, in future we let ourselves give a prior written (email) consent of the german bloggers here.
Why should you fight, when the world is so beautiful yet.
Have a nice day and many thanks!

And for all: Maybe i got this problems because we are also reblogging articles with critics on the Roman-Catholic Church. Actually in germany, much more in Bavaria the RCC wants to have more members and also members without critics.

“Reblogging” falls under fair use here –
one Boating News site does the equivalent of Reblogging my Posts – they did ask permission (not required) – they take one picture and 200 Characters (about 40 to 45 words or so) – when they put me on their front page I get 40 to over 200 referrals of people visiting my site – and I love the traffic
I will sometimes Reblog something if I find an interesting article I think my visitors will like, I either use the Reblog function or hand work the reference if they are not on WordPress.COM – but always careful to only use a bit of their text (use too much text and search engine ranking can go down for both sites) – and there is a very clear link to send people to the other site if they want to read the entire article
Most web site owners like links to our sites, we just don’t want you to take the entire Post
-
Thx, i also think so, but i have no time to shorten the buttonized reblogged posts. I thought all bloggers love to be present on much more than there own blog. Today i learned some bloggers dont want, so i will change me opinion. There is no need to to reblog articles from others, my site is nonprofit only for information mostly about things going wrong in my hometown and inside the country.

I removed the tag for Staff as you appear to clearly comprehend how reblogging works. Best wishes with your blog.

I think this
http://mlmj.wordpress.com/2014/10/01/katholische-bruderschaft-missbraucht-200-jungen-sexuell-belfasttelegraph/
reblogged article was the reason for the woman blogger no furthermore allow me to reblog her politically motivated posts. Not everyone inside Bavaria wants to read about wrong going things inside the Roman-Catholic Church.
