Is it always this impossible to try to find a LIVE person to talk to??
-
We are considering WordPress for building a new website for our organization. But we aren’t yet ready to sign up for a plan because we have questions we need answers to first to figure out the best plan and best way to begin the process. And I can’t find a number or chat option anywhere to be able to actually talk to a person. If it’s this hard to get support in wanting to give WordPress our business, is it going to be this hard trying to get support after we do as well?
If anyone can help direct me to someone or someplace I can actually talk to a person it would be tremendously appreciated.
I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

Have a look at the features of the available plans here
https://wordpress.com/pricing/
and come back if you have further questions that volunteers of staff can help you with. -
I’ve already done that, which is why I’m here. My questions go beyond the simple features. I’ve never had this much trouble trying to get support from a company. I am new to my role here and while I have managed and built websites before, I am not a professional. We have an existing site, domain, host, etc. The list of features and prices don’t help me answer any questions relating to that piece. I would like some answers before we sign up for a paid plan because we are building a new site from scratch with the same domain but need our old site to remain active while we build the new one.

OK I’ve added a Modlook tag to this thread so a member of staff will respond but it would speed things up if you explained what you are unsure about. There are loads of support docs here about connecting/transferring a domain to a WordPress.com site and how to move content.
Why not start a free site so you get some idea. The address you choose won’t matter if you intend to eventually move an existing domain to the site (by purchasing a plan). -

Part of the issue is that I don’t fully understand how everything is currently set-up and connected and I want to make sure that nothing gets screwed up in the transfer. We currently have our domain registered through register4less.com. Our web hosting is through GoDaddy, but WordPress is where we do all our website updates.
We had decided on a plan yesterday and then I looked again today and all the plans and pricing had changed overnight.
I also wasn’t sure how to get started–whether I needed to transfer the domain or use a different domain temporarily until we are ready to transfer or what. I came across a few things related to some of this but this is only one small part of my job and I was really hoping to just be able to talk to a person rather than spending hours sifting through articles to hopefully find all the answers I need.
