Is it bad form to include the same tag in every post?
-
My blog posts are not found by Reader searches for the topic of my blog. I could remedy that by making a tag for the topic of my blog and adding that tag to all of my posts. Adding the topic of my blog as a tag to all of my posts seems redundant though. Is there a better option?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Tags provide a useful way to group related posts together and to quickly tell readers what a post is about. Tags also make it easier for people to find your content. So there is nothing wrong to include the tags.
Just make sure you include relevant tags. i.e. Don’t use a tag named plank on your pushup posts :)
You can read more about tags in the reader here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/topics/ specifically this section: https://en.support.wordpress.com/topics/#get-your-content-to-appear-in-tags

Although all your posts are about pushups, there will be something specific about each post like a review, tutorial, guest post, sleep etc., which you can use as tags.

Thank you for the reply. The only search option I see in Reader is for tags. I would like my page to come up when users search for pushups, but it appears that the only option users have for searching for pushups is to search for the pushup tag. If it is correct that this is the only search option, then I’m back to my original concern about redundancy with having to add a pushup tag to each post in order for them to show up in user searches. If there is another search option, where is that found?
I hope I am communicating my concern here; I apologize for the convoluted wording…

I understand what you are saying.
You are correct. Tags is the only search option in Reader. Reader search will only display the most recently published posts that have been tagged or categorized with the tag name used for search. So all your old posts won’t be shown anyway.
You don’t have to tag all your posts with pushups. You can get a bit specific with tagging as I explained earlier.
Also note that not all your visitors search in Reader. People also search Google. So check these two posts to improve your blog’s visibility on Google and other search engines:
