Is it better to use 'status' or 'statuses' in the URL that embeds a tweet?

Either of these URLs seems to work. Is one of them deprecated?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
I’d recommend using “status” as that’s what I see in the URL when I check the tweets in a Twitter feed. You can also see that on our support page here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/twitter/twitter-embeds/
Please let me know if I can do anything more to help with that. :)

Thanks, @rachelmcr. That’s what I’ll do.
What had spooked me was Twitter’s use of “statuses” in place of “status” in the URLs downloaded by the new (since March) download-all-your-tweets function. So I’d wondered if “status” was on its way out.
