Is it essential to select a post page as a blog page?

    Hello,
    WordPress Community!
    I have a doubt. Is it essential to select a post page as a blog page under the setting >> readings section? Does it help from an SEO point of view? Or it tells the search engines something? Please share your views on this.

    I think those tick boxes at the top of Settings/Readings are more for how you want the site to look rather than being meant to dictate SEO. Saying that, search engines do prefer sites with regularly changing content rather than a site made up of unchanging static pages so perhaps best to leave latest posts ticked..
    Of course make sure Allow search engines to index this site is selected.
