Is It Just 'Twenty Ten' Or Can I Adjust Pic Frames?

    It’s not a biggy, but I should check with my friends here to see whether there’s something I can do about my pics not being centered in the frames WP automatically places them in. They are ‘almost’ centered, so that it is something that can be ignored.

    I am going to be posting in a few minutes and you can look at that to know what I’m talking about. Perhaps it’s just an imperfection of my otherwise great theme. Perhaps there’s an adjustment I can make.

    Hi arrby,

    I’m not certain but it looks like the images are just slightly too wide for the area when inside the caption frame.

    Did you set a custom size for the images or one of the default widths?

    I think if you set the width to be a bit smaller width wise it would fit in and center in the caption frame. Probably 620 pixels wide would fit in right I would say.

    Let me know if that does it.

    I know nothing about any of that. I just use the tools as is. I’ll pay attention when I post images again and see whether I can play with widths, keeping in mind your recommendation. Thanks.

    Hi sorry about that arrby,

    What you can do to try is one of the images you already have inserted. If you edit the post. You can click on the image. This should bring up two buttons on the image one to edit and one to delete. Click the edit button. This will pop up the image details window. Under size you can set it to custom. Then set the width to 620. This should auto adjust the height to match for you. Then update those changes and I think it should fit better.

    I’m also going to tag staff for them to look at this, because it seems the theme does not take into account when images will be in captions. There might be something that can be done to fix it long term so you don’t need to do the steps above.

    Hi there!

    Thanks so much for reporting this. It looks like there’s a slight sizing bug when a caption is used. The image isn’t being made small enough to sit inside the caption border.

    I’ve put in a ticket for our theme developers to take a look. I’ll let you know when I hear back!
