Is it mandatory to import users from company's LDAP for them to use WP?

Hi, I want to implement WP in a company, and the company already has an LDAP with employee information. I am wondering if the employees need to be imported into WP before they can use WP. It would be desirable not to store any employee information in WP, to comply with security standards and avoid sync complexity.

I believe you may wish to hire a web host and set up a wordpress.ORG software install instead.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums.
