Is it odd to set a featured image for my post that doesn't appear in the post?
-
Should a featured image appear in a post? Sometimes, I’ll have a better idea of what image would best fit with my title or the broadest concept that I’m seeking to communicate. I know how to change the featured image, but — by that point — I’ve already set my other photos where I want them. In fact, I just did this: changed my “Featured Image” to a picture that does not appear in the post itself, only in the Reader (I briefly followed and unfollowed myself to check). Would it be better to work that image into the post somewhere, or is what I did okay?

Now I’ve decided to go back and work that image into the post itself. After asking my question, I clicked on the link to my site: guess what? Because my blog is set up to show the latest post, the featured image won’t be seen if someone clicks on the link to the site. Only people who click on the link to the post itself
