Is it possible for public to post on blog?

  Is there a way on wordpress to have people post and idea on to your blog. Then have other users vote for it or comment on the idea. I’m not looking for them to be comments on a post I create, but to have them make the post gathering the publics ideas. Please let me know if you know of anyway to make this happen. Thank you.

  No. Visitors do not get such access to WordPress.com blog. Only official users of the blog do. If you stop for a moment and think about it if what you suggest was possible we would all have blogs covered in spam from cilas, viagra, and porno peddling spammers. You can create official users of your blog and use P2 which is a Twitter-like theme. Here are the roles you can assign > http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/

  But what you are describing is not a blog per say. It’s more akin to being a wiki or forum. You can get a free wiki or forum on the internet and link to it from your blog.
  wiki – A Web site developed collaboratively by a community of users, allowing any user to add and edit content.
  online forum – or message board’, is an online discussion site.

  You would have to invite commenters to become contributors or authors after they have made a comment you approve and like.

  Then you would depend of your readers to like or not those posts.
  Or you could have a poll on each of the guests’ posts for reader feedback.

  I agree it’s probably not what this member wanted to hear but it’s the way it is. Sometimes we experience people who want public noticeboards and they have no savvy at all when it comes to the spammers and scammers. I suspect they are not clear on the differences between wikis, online forums, and blogs so I try to clarify the differences for them.

  Yes, the OP has only been a member of WordPress for less than one hour.
  Probably he / she is not really clear about what they want so your additional info is helpful.
