Is it possible to add a Tags Widget (or the coding equivalent) to a static Page?

  Hi there. I’m creating a searchable catalog by using tags. After Search, I imagine the Tag Cloud will be my most important feature. However, since there’ll be a LOT of tags, I don’t want the cloud to appear on my front page– it’ll look a mess. I’d like to devote a static page to it. Is there any way to make the cloud appear on that page and that page only?

  … this would be a really great way for WP to distinguish itself from Blogger, BTW…

  I did click it. I’d already seen that page, as I’d chosen that theme for myself. I’m not precisely sure what point you’re trying to make me see here. What feature should I be looking for on a theme?

  That article lists the free themes and where sidebars and footer areas are positioned on them. We have over 200 themes and I can’t think of one off the top of my head that will do what you want to do.

  … but that’s just it. All those themes allow for you to use the Tag Cloud widget on the FRONT page. I want the widget on a separate page. Browsing through 200 themes isn’t going to help me if none of them allow for widgets on static, secondary pages.

  Widgets are usually site-wide. The Custom Design upgrade doesn’t give you the option to display different widgets on different pages, as that is that is coded into a theme and cannot be changed using CSS.

  OK then. Like you said earlier, the answer to my question is no. I’ll keep messing around with Blogger, then. Thank you.
