Is it possible to change a domain name please?

    how do i change my domain name. I have registered jopublicstandupcomedian.wordpress.com and I want to change it to just; jopublic.wordpress.com and then I want to pay for a custom name. Before I pay though I need to change the name.

    You can change your site’s URL using these instructions:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/

    However, please be aware that if you do that, jopublicstandupcomedian.wordpress.com will not be available to use in the future. Not by you or any other user.

    If you are going to use a custom domain name, there is really no need to change your WordPress.com default URL as nobody will ever see it aside from you. Everyone viewing your site will see your custom URL.
