Is it possible to claim a domain that's not being used?

  Hi support,

  Online I am known as Redeye. I have the Twitter handle, Foursquare, Instagram, etc. Is it possible to to use the address http://redeye.wordpress.com it hasn’t been used since 2009.

  I couldn’t find your policy on this anywhere.

  You need to try to contact the owner and ask them if they will transfer the domain to you. WordPress.com won’t contact them for you for privacy reasons so you will have to leave the comment and see.

  Alternatively choose a similar name or map a domain to your blog
