Is it possible to control which posts are sent out to your RSS subscribers?

I am creating a culinary blog, and don’t want to bombard RSS subscribers every time I post a new recipe. I’d like for the RSS to just notify readers when I post an actual blog. Since I can’t post recipes as pages (for lack of tagging and inefficiency), I have run into a dilemma. Please let me know if there is a way to control each post and whether or not it is shared through RSS.

Unfortunately, it’s not possible to remove certain posts from your RSS feed. The only alternative, which it seems like you’ve already explored, would be to add recipes to a page, rather than creating new posts.
However, if you’re using the Publicize feature, you can disable Publicize for individual posts:
