Is it possible to create a few websites and e-commerce under one account on WP and what is the difference between WP and WPMU?

    Hi WP team,
I have e-commerce on Shopify and personal website on Wix. My questions:
    – could I transfer e-commerce from Shopify to WP?
    – What plan allows to build multiple website under one account? I mean I would like to pay monthly fee instead of paying separately for each website and e-commerce.
    – What is WPMU? If I have a few websites does it make sense to get membership on WPMU instead of paying for plan on WP?
    – I have my hosting on GoDaddy. Are there any additional charges from WP if I will stay with GoDaddy but will be mapping my domains on WP?
    – If I transfer my domains to WP what is the price for hosting of each domain?
    – Does Premium plan allow to sell online or for selling paintings online I should create e-commerce?
    Thank you!!!

    Hi nadiataiga,

On WordPress.com, the WooCommerce plugin is supported on our Business and eCommerce plans.

could I transfer e-commerce from Shopify to WP?

If Shopify provide the option to export a CSV of products, that can be imported to WooCommerce with these steps:

    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/product-csv-importer-exporter/

What plan allows to build multiple website under one account? I mean I would like to pay monthly fee instead of paying separately for each website and e-commerce.

Multiple sites can be created in single account but each plan is only valid for one site. So if you wanted to use Business plan features on three sites, you would need to purchase a plan for each one.

We don’t offer the option to pay monthly — plans are billed in full at the checkout.

    What is WPMU?

WPMU means WordPress MultiUser and is a way of creating a multisite network. It’s worth being aware that certain WPMU plugins are not supported:

I have my hosting on GoDaddy.

Hosting the site with GoDaddy means you will be using WordPress.org software (which is a separate entity from WordPress.com):

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

It also means you wouldn’t need to purchase a plan on WordPress.com — they can only be used for sites hosted on our servers.

Are there any additional charges from WP if I will stay with GoDaddy but will be mapping my domains on WP?

Existing domains can be transferred to WordPress.com and pointed to another host but it’s usually easier to keep the site and domain together in one account if possible.

    – If I transfer my domains to WP what is the price for hosting of each domain?

One custom domain is included in the cost of each paid plan — that will cover the cost of transferring one domain to WordPress.com and renewing it for another year. But again, this only applies if you are intending to transfer domains to us.

Does Premium plan allow to sell online or for selling paintings online I should create e-commerce?

The Premium plan supports Simple Payments as well as PayPal buttons for selling individual products. WooCommerce is only available on the Business plan though.

I think the first decision will be whether you want to create a site on WordPress.com, or whether you want to use WordPress.org software with GoDaddy.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
