Is it possible for spam in the comment blacklist to be deleted automatically so one doesn’t have to even deal with it at all?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That would be a very bad idea. Your readers will have comments that lands in the spam filter from time to time. Actually I would say that it would be bad blogging manners to just delete without checking. You owe your readers to correct errors.
Having said that, Askimet is terrific. That spam filter is doing a fine job. Mistakes are few and far between.
Are you plagued with much spam?

Tie information you have entered into the Comment Blacklist box will y result in any comments received bearing the same information to automatically be placed in the spam filter.
Comment Blacklist
When a comment contains any of these words in its content, name, URL, e-mail, or IP, it will be marked as spam. One word or IP per line. It will match inside words, so “press” will match “WordPress”.However, it’s important to note that persistent trolls will simply get another IP and email address and be back at it again.

@ geni — OK, I didn’t know my welcome readers might accidently end up in spam. I am not plagued with a lot of spam, no. My point is that if I blacklist a URL, why would I even want it in spam? I want it gone, and I don’t even want to know it was there.
