Is it possible to edit a WordPress.com theme?

Hi
Is it possible to edit a WordPress.com theme?
Currently, the theme on my site, I have the site’s name at the top, and then a banner picture. I’d like to get rid of the site’s name, and have a picture I’ve created which includes the site’s name on the picture.
Is that possible to do? And how?
Many thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Go to Settings->Appearance->Header and untick the box that says you want to Display Text and then upload your picture as a custom header, assuming your theme has a custom header option.

reaincoaster has provided the instructions you needed. It’s important to understand that search spiders do expect to find your blog title here > General > Settings (the tagline is optional). Not displaying it is not a problem as they can still read it. But if it’s not on the General Settings page there then you may experience problems getting your content indexed. It’s also important to understand that search spiders and crawlers do not ‘see’ any words in images at all.
