  Is it possible to have an email catcher in my free wordpress? If yes, what apps are supported by WordPress?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  It is a signup form to enable me to get the email addresses of my followers.

  You can create a contact form http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact-form/ on a page http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/ and clearly state that those who choose to have their email address harvested for whatever specific purpose you state there can leave their email address by using the form.

  Please note that if someone subscribes to your blog and you send then an email that is not what they signed up for (as in you harvest their addresses for spam newsletters etc) you are in serious violation of the law in many countries

  any blog that sends me anything that is beyond what I signed up for is immediately dropped and I send a note to the FTC and State Atty. office about their illegal activity

  for all the reasons timethief and auxclass mentioned, it is best to use a site like Mailchimp to ethically collect e-mail addresses. Their software is specifically designed to manage e-mail marketing, subscribes, unsubscribes and the like.

  You can add a link to your signup page (created in Mailchimp) like this.

  Thanks for the suggestions. :) I actually know Benchmarkemail and Madmimi but I don’t know how to put them in my blog. I’ll try Mailchimp @lizthefair.

  My pleasure. You might be able to achieve the same goal with other email marketing providers. I just know for sure MailChimp hosts signup forms in a way that works with WP.com. I also really like them as a company, but that’s somewhat beside the point 😉
