Is it possible to have not the GUI-based while making a blog ?

Hi all,
I dunno how to put it. I came back to the site after around 3 months and while many things have changed for the better, one of the things I miss is having a less guified interface while blogging (or more accurately making a blog post). I do remember there used to be two ways to do blogging before.Is it still possible to do that or has that change gone for good ? Any response on the above would be nice.

ah nice. thanx for that. Although I meant something different but that sorta works. What I meant was there was a lesser form of editor, there used to be a visual editor and another sort of editor where you could do more without worrying about things. The last time I used and saw that was in April 2012.

@timethief, you got it, I did not want asides but wanted to go through the other way, that has the editor exactly as I want. Thanx. Dunno what is this asides thing but reading on that as well. Thanx for the headsup.

by other way I meant through my blog’s dashboard. I thought that had disappeared as well as the editor as I had set it. Thanx for resolving my issue.
