Is it possible to put a Dwolla payment button on my site?
-
I am currently signed up to use Dwolla http://www.dwolla.com/about and they can generate a Pay Now button for me to use on my site (single payment option). I was given the script for it but it doesn’t seem to translate at all into a button on my page.
I know you do a PayPal button but I don’t like PayPal and chose Dwolla as a much more secure and cost-effective choice. Do you need to talk to the Dwolla people to set this up? Thank you. Lisa

Hi Lisa,
There are certain kinds of code which a lot of payment processing sites like to use, but which we do not allow on our site. We have an article right here:
Which explains the code types which aren’t allowed. If you take a look at the code which you got from Dwolla, you can probably see if there are any of the forbidden codes in there. It will usually have something like “iframe” or “javascript” or “embed” or something like that in there. If there’s anything like that, we can’t allow it for security reasons.
If you don’t see anything, let me know and maybe paste the script in here and I’ll see what I can do!

Hi amightywp,
The script has one of those words, once in it: javascript in the 3rd line:
class=”dwolla _button” type=”text/javascript”
That negates using it completely then? :(
If so, I’ll give them a call and ask if they have an alternative & give them that support link to WordPress’ code requirements.
Thanks, Lisa

After I posted, I realized I sounded a little silly. lol Of course, it means it can’t be used. That’s what happens when you’re trying to multi-task on a few dilemmas at the same time.
I called Dwolla and let them know about your code requirements limitations (along w/the url). Right now, they don’t have any alternative code for me to use for someone to pay as a guest, so my clients will have to create an account just like they had to do with Paypal way back when.
If/when you ever choose to work w/Dwolla as a “trusted partner” where you convert the code into a WordPress shortcode (to be used on both pages & posts), as you do w/Google and YouTube, please let us know! That would be wonderful.
Thanks for your help, amightywp

I absolutely will! And I will create a request to have this functionality added as well.
Have a great weekend in the mean time!
