Is it possible to recover a deleted blog if you are the original owner?

  Not long ago, I deleted a blog I was working on. I did see the repeated warnings that the content of the blog would be unrecoverable. I made copies of the content and I am not trying to get any of that back.

  What I would like to do is start another blog using the same domain I used before. I have read support topics that explain that you cannot take over a previously deleted domain unless you get permission from the original owner. That leads me to believe that the original own could somehow reuse the name, since they would obviously have permission.

  The original URL was benjaminbsimpson.wordpress.com.

  Any help would be appreciated.

  The last line of the original post is inaccurate. The form forced me to choose a blog that I currently have registered. Again, the blog I need help with is benjaminbsimpson.wordpress.com.

  Simply stated you can’t register any deleted blog URL because deleting any blog URL is a permanent and irreversible act, just as the multiple warnings required to accomplish site deletion clearly state. Once the verification link for deletion is clicked the blog URL is forever gone, gone, gone. http://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/

  Deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and no exceptions are made.

  You can register another .wordpress.com blog http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/

  Then if you wish to you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade because it does not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is when you are domain mapping.

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/register-domain/

  Thank you for the speedy response. Rereading the article on recycling names, I see it was referring to names that are currently registered to other users (names that have not been deleted). Thanks for giving such a thorough answer.
