Is it possible to remove a blog that isn't mine?
-
Can I request to remove a blog that isn’t mine? I wanted to change my blog to thesieve.wordpress.com and it looks like that is taken at the moment… however the web address that occupies it only has an introductory post from December of 2007. There are no other posts and no signs of life. I’m pretty interested in that domain name so wondering if that’s possible.
Also in terms of changing one blog to another, are all posts and formatting kept intact in the new blog?
Thank you for your time,
-
Hi there,
You cannot actually take over a blog name, even if it is inactive. In fact we do not allow the re-use of names even if they have been previously deleted as we consider those names to be part of a person’s online identity.
In regards to your other question, yes all of your site information remains completely intact if you change your blog name. The only thing that is changed is the actual name.
Let me know if you’ve got any other questions!

Okay, thank you. Can I get a refund of the domains I purchased then?
theinfosieve.com and
thesieve.com -
Hi there,
Sure thing! I’ve gone ahead and refunded you for your Domain Mapping for thesieve.com and for your domain, theinfosieve.com, a total of $39, which should show up back on your billing statement in the next few days.
Did you want to hold on to the Premium Theme and Custom Design packages which you also purchased?

Thank you!
Yes I would like to hold on to the Premium Theme and Custom Design packages.
One final question for you: I transferred my blog to thewinnow.wordpress.com but when I go to that address it still redirects to thesieve.com (which isn’t working). Do you know how to fix that?
Sorry for all the back and forth!

Heya!
Not a problem about the back and forth. It’s what we’re here for!
When I go to thewinnow.wordpress.com, that’s what shows up and that’s what stays for me. It may be that your browser is caching the old information.
You can try checking out the site in a different browser to verify it. You can also clear your browser’s cache and cookies. To do that, you can follow the steps here:
