Is it possible to remove the reply box in a wordpress.com page?

  Hello,

  I would like to limit online conversations and replies to certain pages on my blog and don’t want comments to appear on other pages. All pages in the theme I have chosen seem to have a “Reply” box built in, and I can’t find a way to remove it in the settings. Do some themes (particularly free themes), offer that option without customization, or am I missing a setting somewhere in my theme? I really don’t want to get into PHP programming or do a lot of coding. If there is a simple way to remove the reply box via a paid upgrade, I would consider it, but would be really pleased if it could be done for free.

  Ahh, here we go:

  Edit page > Discussion > untick ‘Allow Comments’ > Update

  I was confused because the “Discussion” menu options aren’t displayed by default. It is necessary to go to the “Screen Options” tab and display the “Discussion” menu in order to see it.

  Hi there!

  Yes that’s it! Also if you want to allow/not allow comments on certain pages you can do this by, please go to Pages > All pages in your Dashboard. Then select all pages you want to disable comments on. Then, go to the drop down menu labeled “Bulk Actions” and select “Edit”. Click on “Apply”, and you will see another dropdown menu next to “Comments”. Select “Do Not Allow”, and click “Update”.

  This should disable Comments on all the pages you checked off. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions!
