Is it possible to restrict the auto update of plugins, themes and WordPress core

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi,

I would like to purchase wordpress.com business plan. Is it possible to restrict the auto update of WordPress core, paid plugins and themes as sometimes it may cause unexpected results. Also if any unexpected results causes, then how to roll back to the last working website?

    Kind regards
    Celin

  • Hi there,

By default all Business sites will auto-update the WordPress core files, as well as any free plugin or theme downloaded from the WordPress.org repository.

If you’re using a custom plugin or theme (not available in the WordPress.org repository) you will need to update those automatically, as we are not able to auto-update them. More info here: https://wordpress.com/support/plugin-and-theme-updates/

Also if any unexpected results causes, then how to roll back to the last working website?

You have full access to both incremental and daily backups, so you have the ability to roll your site back at any time: https://wordpress.com/support/restore/

    Hope this helps!
