Is it possible to retrieve a deleted page?
-
I’m still learning the new format, and accidentally deleted a page entitled “motivation”. Is there any way to retrieve that page along with visitor comments? Thanks, T
-
No, unfortunately there isn’t. You might be able to find it on google or yahoo or somewhere.

Awww, I selected the check box, thinking it was for editing. Okie doke. Thanks thesacredpath. :) T

Google should have a cached version, if you do a search right away. Don’t click on the main link, click on the Cache. Copy it there and you can paste it into the Write box.

It would be nice if a confirmation box popped up prior to deletion. Maybe that will be added with future upgrades. Have a beautiful evening. T

Hey RainCoaster, I checked google but didn’t find it…but can you believe this thread is already in the search engine? Talk about fast. lol
-
If it can’t find the Title of the post, try some of the contents and in the search box put it like this:
Title site:wordpress.com
or
Contents site:wordpress.com
and that’ll limit the search to WP.
-
Oh, that’s a good idea. I’ll try that now. By the way, I remember reading that if posts/pages accidentally disappear, WP can restore them. How does that differ from deletions, in tech terms? Just curious how it all works.

I tried a few additional terms but couldn’t find a cache page. No worries, I’m just happy it was one page, and not the entire blog. lol T

I don’t think what you read was accurate. There’s a tiny window in which they can grab things, but as backups happen so frequently, it’s probably been overwritten by now. If Support were open you could contact them and ask; that’s fastest. But it’ll be gone by morning.

Thanks Rain. I’m getting used to the new format now, so I’ll just keep my eyes open. lol T
