Is it possible to search a custom Google Map ?

  On this page I have the general map I’d like to use. What I want to do is users can type in a search for a location on the map and it will refresh the map and show what they wanted to see. It would be similar to this:

  http://gmaps-samples-v3.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/localsearch/places.html

  I’ve spent the last few nights trying to find documentation on it, but have failed.
