Is it possible to sell products for the obsidian site?

  Hi there.

  Im just wondering if it is possible to sell any products through the Obsidian website? Albums, merchandise??

  I also have a domain, thecoldexplodes.com. Is it possible to use this with a website created with yourselves?

  Hi there,

  I’m not sure what you mean by the Obsidian website? You can of course link to other websites from your WordPress.com site:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/links/

  And if you’re driving traffic to other sites for money as part of an Affiliate program (like Amazon Associates), just make sure the links fall in line with our Affiliate guidelines:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/affiliate-links/

  If you need a storefront on your website itself, not just links to other storefronts, you can use the eCommerce options available with our Business plan:

  Yes! You’ll need to purchase our Domain Mapping upgrade, then have the name servers point to us. We have steps for that process here:

  Thanks for your response Alex, your a gentleman.

  Im sorry for the confusion, I didn’t make myself clear on that one.

  Obsidian is just one of the templates available on the word press site. I was going to use this ‘Obsidian’ word press site as the main site for the release of a new album but I need to ensure that I can of course sell the album, tickets for concerts and merchandise from here before I purchase the template.

  Is the possible dude?:)

  Hi Dan,

  Ah, okay. So you meant the Obsidian theme. It’s definitely a pretty theme and a good look for selling merchandise.

  The question about selling merchandise has less to do with your theme and more about your technical needs. If you need to host the storefront on your WordPress.com site (that is you post the product here, customers add it to their shopping cart and pay for it here) you’ll want our eCommerce setup:

  Sell Online on WordPress.com

  eCommerce requires our Business Plan. That plan includes unlimited themes, including Obsidian. So if that’s what you need, purchase the Business plan first, then activate Obsidian.

  But if you want to just display the merchandise on your WordPress.com site, and then actually handle the purchasing of the merchandise on another system, you can run your site with Obsidian for that one-time theme purchase and not need the Business plan.
