Is it possible to separate links from Blogroll?

Hello! I am using WordPress on my own hosted website and I am wondering if it is possible to display links in two separate places.

Currently, it is default so that if I have the Blogroll widget on my sidebar, and a links template for one of the pages, both will display the same exact stuff. It is a little redundant.

Now, say I have Category 1, Category 2, and Blogroll as my cateories…

Is it possible to make it so my Blogroll on the sidebar displays links categorized under Blogroll and Category 1, but not links categorized under Category 2?

And is it then possible to only display links under Category 2 on a page using the links template?

I hope my question is clear, as I have been looking for a solution to this for quite some time!

Hi. Self-hosted blogs are supported at wordpress.org. This is wordpress.com.

As ellaella has said, this forum is specifically for wordpress.com issue
    .
but i divide my blogroll on my wordpress.com blog by using our “del.ici.ous” widget and “links” widget separately.

you could check out the plug-ins at http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/
to do a similar thing with a selfhosted blog.

dlager – I know you’re trying to be helpful but answering them here as opposed to over there doesn’t help the forum volunteers much. Probably the #1 forum answer here is “you’re in the wrong forum”

Sorry, this is my first time using the help forum here. I had seen a question answered here earlier regarding my topic and didn’t know it was specific or anything like that.

I appreciate the help, and will from now on use wordpress.org.
