Is it possible to transfer a free WordPress domain to another free WordPress domain?

  Hey guys,
  I have two blogs on WordPress free plan and am wondering if I can swap the domains of these two blogs so that I can still keep both but just swap the address ? I’m not sure where to find the information on this as most posts seem to be about transferring rather than swapping between the two

  Hi there,

  The only way to do this is by transferring content. It’s not possible to swap the free addresses of two sites.

  To do this you’ll need to create a third site, let’s call it site C.

  Transfer the content from Site A to Site C. If you also want to move your followers, you’ll need to contact us at this point to do that. Then empty site A.

  Next transfer the content (and followers) from Site B to Site A. Then empty Site B.

  Lastly, transfer the content (and followers) from Site C to Site B. Then you can delete site C as it’s no longer needed.

  It will not be possible to move your site stats between the sites – stats can only be merged, not transferred, so if we tried that you’d end up with combined stats on both sites.

  Post Likes cannot be transferred between sites.

  If I deleted one of my sites would the free domain be available for the other site?

  No, if you delete a site, its address will become unavailable. Nobody will be able to use it, including you.

  If you want to use one of the addresses you already have, instead of creating a third site, as @kokkieh explained, move all the content to that site and work on it directly.
