Is it possible to turn a tag into a category?

  Can I turn a tag into a category with a flick of the switch, so to speak?

  Yes, but it is better for your tags to be more specific such as what your blog is about. For example, words or phrases that are repeated within your blog. Categories are more general; think of these as baskets or folders where you can file all your blogs.

  A couple of threads like this came up in the forum search. Usually people convert categories to tags, but I recommend you read these threads before you decide on converting anything :)

  AFAIK, there is no automatic way to convert a tag to a category. (You can go the other way, of course.) Best bet would be to add the category, search the tag on your blog, and add the category to those posts with the tag. Yes, it’s tedious, but I can’t think of any other way.

  Thanks all – I found myself posting a certain tag a lot lately and I thought that I would turn it into a category. Thanks again
