Is it possible to use CSS to delete place-holder for images?

In the front page of the Suburbia theme, there is an image place-holder at the top, followed by the title (linking to the full post) of the post and then text.
I want my blog to be text only so I was wondering whether it is possible to use CSS to modify the theme so that only the title and the text showsPS: I purchased custom design but have very little experience with CSS
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Yes. In your custom design upgrade you have a little box in which you type any css code you want to add to your style sheet. Type this in:
.featured-image {display: none;}It worked on my test. Let us know if this solved it.

Thanks anyway!
PS: I’m considering using CSS a bit more so may come back with more questions!
