Is it possible/a good idea to maintain two separate blogs?

I’m thinking about doing one blog that is solely a book review blog, but I think I’d like to keep that separate from my other blog which is more about humor and life lessons. I just wondered if it is possible. I really don’t know the first thing about who reads these blogs, so it may not even matter. I just know some people are reading it. I have very few comments, so I don’t know if they are my friends or strangers.
Anyway, I’d love to hear your thoughts and ideas.

I am also new here, but I can tell you having 2 blogs is no technical bother. Except, if I want to be logged into them at the same time, I need to use two different brosers. Lile IE and Firefox. IE is no good with widgets for me.
Some people on the forums write about a drop down menu with their different blogs. I have never seen this, except at m.wordpress.com (which is for mobiles). Hope this helps & maybe someone will clarify about the drop down menus, maybe it is only on certain themes. -
If you can keep up with two blogs, and have things to say on different subjects, then more than one blog can be a good thing. You can focus more on your subjects that way.
One word of caution though is to not get too many going and allow them to take over your life. Sometimes the pressure to put up a new post every day can become quite a burden.

i think it would be a good idea.u can focus more on each subject this way.maybe one blog to talk about happenings in the world where else the other more to yr personal life.i find humor blogs the most interesting.

I’m a writer in my real job, and this is my current outlet for what I want to write, as opposed to what I have to write.However, I have about 40-50 book reviews already stored up on my computer and my friends often ask for them, so if they were in a separate blog, it might be easer than emailing them to various people.
Thanks for your input. Now I’ll have to see if I can figure out how to do a pull down menu. That would be good.

i have two blogs with the same content. one is here at wordpress and the other is at blogger. how weird is that? anyway, i think it is a good idea to put up a separate blog for your book reviews.

If the blogs have the same exact content, you are losing search engine juice. The do not like duplicate content, and figure there is something fishy going on.

Nine Inch Nails does exactly the same thing, PLUS they have exactly the same content on NIN.com. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing.
