Is it worth getting a developer?

Im between a rock and a hard place. I have a reasonably nice looking site that a developer built. They do great work and Ive used them for a long time. But they aren’t doing anything anymore and there is nothing in place to push business to the site.

I also need to add a second location to the site and the current template doesn’t offer scope for that so I would have to move across to one of there other products which costs approx $400 AUS

But the company has changed and I find myself with a lot more time on my hands to work on the website.

The company is small and as we expand I suspect I will get help from developers to put certain things in that are outside of my capabilities. But for now, with a limited budget of around $400 a month could I do as good a job at driving traffic to my site?

Heres the rub, they are using a template and cutting and pasting my content in. Surely the likes of Genesis with a good child theme is just the same?

I appreciate the question is a bit ambiguous, but Im trying to make a decision and Im finding it difficult. I appreciate there are a number of web developers on here and I don’t mean to offend, because I believe the work that is done by a developer is going to obviously be superior to mine. I just trying to establish if my current situation of no real bad end stuff needed. Just a front of house site?

  • Hey there,

I’m sorry, but http://ttspersonaltraining.co.uk/ is not hosted at WordPress.com. I believe the WordPress.org community will be able to better advise you: http://wordpress.org/support

The fact that the site may have been built using WordPress, or may mention ‘Powered by WordPress’ (or something similar) simply means it is using the WordPress.org software, which can be downloaded and installed on any web host.
