Is Jetpack Causing Distorted Images?

I recently launched my site and it consists of just over 4,000 separate images (online image licensing database) and I note many images being distorted such as the top one here:
http://danscartoons.com/category/dogs/ and all images on this page: http://danscartoons.com/category/custom-editorial/ and I have Jetpack installed and initially thought it was the Photon tool that was causing it….and I just turned it off and the images are still distorted. So wondering if anyone has suggestions. Any insights would be appreciated on what to try. Thank you. -

Well, this is embarrasing….I did nothing to my settings in my wordpress editor. But this morning after logging in so I could continue trying to fix the distorted images on those two pages I previously mentioned, I see they now appear normally. Could it have something to do with wordpress itself? I appreciated your input TimeThief….I was going to go to those links you provided – however….it look as though all is good on the western front. I do have Photon still deactivated and have no intention of turning it back on. In fact, I haven’t the foggiest as to what Photon really does….even though it describes the functionality in that JetPack page of settings. Is it strictly an image enhancement tool? Making my images load faster? If that is so, it needs to be improved as that factor taking place where images distort is not good….
