Is language switcher a core component of WordPress?

    Hello all,

I’m not sure if this is the best place to ask this and if I’m at the wrong forum, I do apologize.

My website https://halukaka.net is bilingual but language switcher acts funny. I know it’s not a part of the theme and it’s same for 2 translation plugins I know, so it probably isn’t a component of the translation plugin either. Is it a component of WordPress core? And if so how can I troubleshoot it?

If this is something you can help with, here’s the problem I’m having:

Language switcher is displayed just fine for both English and Turkish on my site but when the site language (user’s browser language) is Turkish, the language selected in language switcher is English (thus, user can’t click on English, I mean clicking on English does nothing). It works just fine in English site (i.e. clicking on Turkish will switch to Turkish).

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there!

We are unable to help because we don’t host your site directly on our WordPress.com managed hosting. Instead, your site is hosted with a different provider on a separate host, and we’re unable to provide support. But I can get you pointed in the right direction.

The good news is that because you use the open-source variant of the WordPress platform (which functions differently than what we offer here on WordPress.com), help is available at the community forums here:

    https://wordpress.org/support/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting/

The folks in the open-source forum are more familiar with these issues and are in the best position to help.

I hope this points you in the right direction.
