Is mapping a domain to my blog a free feature?

  I have a registered domain. How can I map my current wordpress blog to my registered domain. I understand this is a free feature but when I try to do this I am asked to upgrade to a paying service. Please kindly advise and assist. Thank you.

  In order to map an existing domain (like example.com) to your WordPress.com blog, you’ll need to purchase the domain mapping upgrade.

  You can do so at Store -> Domains in your blog’s dashboard.
