Is one able to add a G badge to WordPress.com ?

I’m trying to add a profile badge for my G+ account to my wordpress site – From here – https://developers.google.com/+/plugins/badge/
I tried and I keep getting an error message.This is the code : <script type=”text/javascript” src=”https://apis.google.com/js/plusone.js”></script>
<div class=”g-plus” data-href=”https://plus.google.com/{116324325963860842642}” rel=”author”></div>When I test the script here : http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets?url=http%3A%2F%2FReneeEverett.wordpress.com
I get an error message saying :

It gives me an option to submit my email to verify.. It does that and then.. Still no joy.
I’m pulling my hair out now ;-( Can you help me?

Javascript is stripped out here for security reasons. It will never work.
What you CAN do is make a text widget with any image and text you want and a link to your profile and put that in your sidebar.

Just to clarify.. Which scripts will work? html ? If I want to use a script in the “text” box widget, which format must be used?
