Is our follower count accurate when someone stops following our blog
-
It seems that my follower count is higher than it should be. When someone stops following my blog, is that reflected in my follower list? There are some people I know who are not following my blog, yet they still appear in my WordPress follower list. Help!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Subscriber control their own subscriptions and we cannot block or delete any followers from out public blogs. Perhaps they did not bother to unfollow and are still following your blog now.

Thank you so much, timethief, for getting back to me so quickly and thoroughly.
I’ve read your comments for years, but this is the first time I’ve ever asked a question. I admire your knowledge, and I’m happy that you are the one who replied – I lucked out.
take care! :)

p.s. the name “timethief” is very cool

Actually, I think I asked one other question before about whether we could block followers – I guess that I’m starting to lose it in my old age. ;)

You’re welcome. We aren’t getting older – just better. Or at least that’s how I choose to look at it. :)

I agree. I’m turning 45 in March, but I still feel 14 in a lot of ways. As one of my favorite authors Madeleine L’Engle said, “The great thing about getting older is that you don’t lose all the other ages you’ve been.”
Working out daily keeps me feeling & acting strong, as opposed to feeble. Of course reading good blogs voraciously keeps my mind fairly sharp. ;)
Thanks again for your help!
