Is Permalink Date tied to Create Date or Post Date?

I am planning on scheduling several posts to publish in future days.

I typically create a link in my blog using the permalink to allow people to tweet the post. However before I do, I need to know if I should set it up with the date I create the post or the date the post will actually publish so it doesn’t create a 404 error after publishing.

In other words. Assuming the post I created and published today.

Bearman Cartoon: Celebrity Death Panel 1

that I actually didn’t publish it today but rather scheduled it for tomorrow.

Would the date on the permalink be 2009/08/20 or would it be 2009/08/21???

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Permalinks are always the published date, regardless of whether a post is backdated or future dated. Whatever the date you set with the post date function, that is the date in the permalink. You can see that by checking the title URL under the post/page title in the post/page editor.

Thanks…I see that the date change didn’t show up on the permalink until I actually click “schedule” Appreciate the help.
