Is purchasing an upgrade necessary to do this (password protect blog)?
-
I have a blog for my employees that has only been live for a month. I found it starting to show up in search engines and do not want competitors to be able to view it. I found an easy and effective way to password protect it here:
http://www.hacksar.com/blog/2009/05/20/how-to-password-protect-your-entire-wordpress-blog/
However, the instructions it gives for modification don’t match the navigation of the WordPress blog I am using (currently the free version). Do I need to purchase an upgrade to have the capability to achieve password protecting the blog using this method? IF so, which upgrade?
thank you
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Those instructions are for self-hosted blogs.
You can password protect posts and pages individually, or you can set the blog to private: http://support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/ .
