is selective email notification possible ??

we are about to start a blog for a child care business that operates Mon, Tue and Wednesdays, with different kids attending on each day. our plan is to provide photos and updates each day on the activities the kids did that day, with parents receiving an email notification. our problem though is that we only want parents that send kids on a Monday to revieve email notifications for posts relating to the monday activities…. we dont; want them to recieve the Tue/Wed email as their kids are not attendign that day and it would be irrelevant (and annoying)… some posts (general business updates) will need to go to all subscribers….so what were after is someway of diiferentiating / selecting which subscribers recieve which email….does anyone know if this is possible? (we thought of running 3 blogs – one for each day, but these seems like overkill)…

    thanks for any help.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there! What a nice idea for parents.
A generic WP subscription button may be your easiest bet, however, subscribers would receive an e-mail with every post. They can choose how often these subscription e-mails come though, so you may want to try that. If not, you may have to look elsewhere for a subscription service. Good luck!
Here is the widget for WP:

Well, if they subscribe to the RSS feeds, you could make categories for each weekday and they could subscribe only to the feed of that category. I don’t know how to make that work with email subscriptions, unless you take those RSS feeds to Feedburner and use their Email option for each feed.
