Is subdomain.yourdomain.edu possible?

  For a projected blog, can we use .edu instead of .com?

  Before Upgrading – Important Notes
  WordPress.com currently only supports registering domains with the extensions .com, .org or .net. You can still map domains with other extensions to your blog – you just have to register them with another registrar and then map them to your blog. The same goes if you already have a domain registered. Registering a domain through WordPress.com is much easier, but it’s not required.
