Is the $8 Privacy Protection Fee recurring or one time?

  Hi everyone
  I have a question about the privacy protection fee. Is that a one time fee of $8.00 or a recurring fee on top of the $18 annual registration fee?

  An annual fee – recurring – all registrars are the same
