Is the ‘BLANK’ template really blank?
-
Hello, very likely my understanding is wrong.
I was using a Real Estate theme which I wasn’t too happy with so elected to build my own from the ‘Blank’ theme.Except is wasn’t.
Blank, I mean.
Seems it is a photographic theme? It took me a while but I recovered my original content.
However, the dash setting ‘Customise’ still throws it up a a photo site.
Consequently I am a little cautious about tinkering as I don’t want to lose my content – again.
It’s only an experimental design, but still…..Is this a blip, if not, how can I have my content show when I try to customise please?
Cheers

Hi there!
I’m showing you’re now using the “Rivington” theme instead of “Blank Canvas” so let us know if you still need help with that theme. Also, it looks like you’re using the Home page created by the Leven theme as your current homepage, which is why you’re seeing a photography-focused homepage.
Instead, do you want to use the page titled
Jessika Homesas your homepage? If so, you need to finish your edits and set the page to public. Then, under Customize -> Homepage settings, choose that page for your homepage, which will override the current homepage.I hope that helps!

Hello, thanks for the fast turn around.
Rivington was the original theme, so we agree there.
It was a bit restrictive ( I thought) so wanted to try blank canvas.Yes, Leven!
I knew it was familiar – I used ii initially on anther site some time back.BUT – I do not recall installing it on this site?.
I am sure it was blank canvas I loaded, but ended up with Leven? At that point I still had an open copy of the “Published” site so I scrolled down to edit and bingo, reloaded the edit page. I then went to revisions, found the version I wanted and reset to that.
Everything went well, I have an edit and published page exactly what I expected.
Problem is every time I go to dash, it shows the Leven site.
Never-the-less, I will follow your guide tomorrow, leaving you time to read this and, if need be, come up with a plan B before I mess it all up!
If there is nothing new from you in the morning (my time) 12 hours from now, I will proceed with plan A.Cheers

OK!
Yep, that did the job.
Thanks very much.
The trick was to change viz to public – that was the strep I missed.
Was frustrated when I could not find the page I wanted listed.
Now I know.
We live and learn.
Thanks again.Uhhm, is blank canvas actually blank?
Cheers

Uhhm, is blank canvas actually blank?
Yes, it’s completely blank. It’s meant for minimalist single-page websites.
