Is the categories widget broken?

    Theme: Twenty Twelve

    Newbie here. I have posts that have categories attached. I added the categories widget. The dropdown is not being populated by the categories that I’ve assigned to the posts.

    Does the Twenty Twelve theme support the categories widget? Any suggestions? TIA.

    Solved this one myself – the categories widget doesn’t work if you set it up with wpadmin. It does work if you use the customizer. Because? WordPress.
