Is the domain I am transferring actually the domain tied to my wordpress site

    I am transferring my domain name of macgraymatter.com to a new site. I’ve already completed the unlocking and transfer process with Hostgator and Squarespace. Is there anything I need to do with WordPress? It looks like my address here is macgraymatter.wordpress.com, not macgraymatter.com.

    Hi Doug,

    macgraymatter.com is registered with HostGator and currently pointing to a site hosted hosted on their servers (and using WordPress.org software).

    I’ve already completed the unlocking and transfer process with Hostgator and Squarespace. Is there anything I need to do with WordPress?

    macgraymatter.com doesn’t have any connection to WordPress.com so if you want to transfer it to SquareSpace, there is nothing that needs to be done through your account ton WordPress.com.

    The transfer process will be initiated through your HostGator account and then Squarespace will be the best people to speak to after that. macgraymatter.wordpress.com will remain unchanged in the process :)
