Is the domain name reserved when our blog site is created?
-
I just created a <mypagename>.wordpress.com site. In future, if I want to upgrade to <mypagename>.com, may be after I would have filled in enough content, will the domain name be still available? i.e. Do you reserve the domain names?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

No a .COM domain name is not reserved for you –
You need to buy your own .COM domain name – if you have a domain name you might like – you can register it here for $ 5.– a year – no need to use the name with a blog

Thanks for your quick reply! I see that, the domain name is available at 18$ in this site. Am I missing something?

$ 5.– / year for Registration + $ 13.– / year for Domain mapping = $ 18.–
The $ 18.– / year would have the custom domain name mapped to your blog here – if you are starting a new blog getting the custom domain name at the start means search engines won’t do a shuffle step when you add the custom domain name at a later date – and they need to index your content with a different name
