Is the gallery the only option for uploading images?

  I have always updates my blog through an android tablet, which allows me to post images in the middle of text, etc.
  I am doing it for the first time on a laptop, and the only option to upload images that i see is through the gallery, which is do not want to use at all. i just want to post a regular image from my computer into the blog post. I tried to search online and saw things that say “use the ‘add media’ button”, but that doesnt exist.
  I also tried looking at the little help button that tells me keyboard shortcuts, and it says alt+shift+ a letter gives me options, and the letter m is to add an image, but that doesnt work.
  Do i have to use the gallery? or is there a way to upload a picture into the middle of my post.

  i see that its possible to insert a picture thats already on the internet by using a link to the image, but im referring to uploading a fresh picture from my computer.

  I second titushaag’s post. I’d like to be able to post an image in the middle of text, and I no longer see this option. Could it please be fixed?

  It’s a new redesign. Has nothing to do with your computer, just a strange and annoying coincidence that you just happen to try it today on the computer. Everyone is complaining about it. It’s terrible! I hope they go back to how it was before!
