Hi there,
If you have the free plan, then posting in the forums is the best way to get help. If you need to get the attention of staff, add the “modlook” tag to the sidebar.
Having said that, there’s a lot of forum volunteers that are very happy to help (like me!) Is there anything I can help you with? -
Hello!
I’m not sure this is the right place to address my problem, but I’m desperate and new to this.
I just bought a personal package and there is some pop-ups problems, so I can’t reach the chat support. I’ve made wordpress.com an exception in Chrome, but it doesn’t help.
Thanks a ton! -
In future, please start your own thread instead of posting into an unrelated one.
What exactly is the problem? We don’t use pop-ups on WordPress.com, so I don’t know what you are referring to.
-
Frankly I’m really tired of all this. I have no clue how to start a new thread, so please bare with me or explain how I start a new thread.
When I go to the support chat a yellow sign appears and it says I have to deactivate the advertise blocker (direct translation from Swedish).
-
If you have an ad-blocker in your browser some features on WordPress.com might not work, yes. Ad-blockers work by blocking JavaScript code, and most of WordPress.com runs on that type of code.
You will either need to add WordPress.com as an exception in the ad-blocker, or remove it completely if that doesn’t work. We cannot do anything from our end to prevent your browser from blocking us.

Thanks, but I can’t seem to get it working anyway. Please let me know how to start a thread. I have many questions.
I really appreciate you taking the time to help me! -
You start a new thread by clicking on Forums at the top of the page page and click the Add new topic button.
But as I’m already helping you here, why don’t you ask your questions and I can help you here?
If you haven’t yet, please work through this page first, however:
That page answers many of the most common questions, but I’m happy to help if there’s anything you don’t find answered there.

Unbelievable! I tried everything and finally I changed from Chrome to Firefox, haven’t used that for a while, and now I can send questions to the support.
I guess you don’t want to help me with why featured images are gigantic, in this thread and where my blog posts ended up. Not on the blog that’s for sure. Thanks for everything and see you around!

The theme you are using, Cubic, is optimised for images, so it’s designed to have large prominent featured images. If you’d prefer smaller featured images, but still want the grid-layout on your front page, you can look at the other themes listed here:
https://wordpress.com/themes/filter/grid-layout/
Your site has three posts published on it, and I see all three on your site’s front page at https://himalayanheroes.blog/ Your theme only shows the featured image and title on the front page. Click on the image to get taken to the single-post view where the full post displays.
All the grid-type themes work this way, though some will show a short excerpt of the post below the image in addition to the title.
-
Thanks for your honesty! If I can’t change the size of the featured image it’s better to know than staying sleepless at night.
Now I only have one big problem I can’t figure out.
I have my posts on the home page and that’s where I want them to be, but when I go to the menu I can’t find them anywhere. When you go to the menu you leave the home page and it’s not in the menu, so how can someone find old posts? -
Clicking on your site title takes you to the home page, but you can also add a Home link to your menu. Please follow these steps to add it to the menu.
1) Click on My Sites, then click the Customize button next to Themes.
2) Click on Menus ->Primary
3) Click Add Items
4) Click Pages. The Home item should be right at the top. Click on it to add it to the menu.
5) Click the Reorder link, and use the arrows to position the home link where you want it in the menu.
6) Save.
I’ve pointed out some of the steps in this screen shot:
